While the National Determined Contributions (NDCs) set the desired adjustment outcomes from every country, the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) details how the outcomes and effective adaptation can be achieved through planning, mainstreaming and stakeholder engagement. Linking the NAPs and the NDCs with the Social Development Goals (SGDs) places the planning for climate resilience in a larger national development context.

In addition the workshop, which took place from 10th to 12th of March 2018, aimed to make decision-makers aware of the importance of horizontal integration of NAPs into sector planning and vertical planning at local, national and regional levels. It was the second workshop out of two for a second group of the appropriate target group since 2016. (see previous article)
