The Muncipal Support Unit of the Lebanese Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with the HSS' regional office in Amman, organized a two-day workshop at the Municipality of Bikfaya with volunteers from all over Lebanon. In the framework of an environmental awareness campaign, elements of the Solid Waste Management plan of the MoE were presented to various stakeholders. Along theoretical session, the participants visited the Burj Hamoud Landfill, which gave them a lasting impression of the environmental impact on marine life and fisheries. The strong need of collaboration between stakeholders of all levels was one of the primary aims of this workshop, with instruments and approaches thereto standing at the centre of the deliberations by the presenters.
