The increase in the number of suicides over the past month has prompted the Lebanese Government and the Ministry of Social Affairs to pay particular attention to this issue. One of the main factors driving them to commit suicide is the trauma they receive as a result of deteriorating social and economic conditions and for Syrian refugees in particular the expulsion and escape from their country of origin. The shocking incident leads to a vibration of the person's understanding of himself and the world around him and to the formation of his feelings of helplessness.
The goal of the workshop, which was conducted from September 13 - 14, 2018 in Tripoli, was to discuss the most important social problems that lead or can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder, which requires the intervention of social and health workers in the centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs and its contracting associations, as well as social workers in some municipalities to discover the symptoms of such cases and to intervene or to guide the persons who suffers from these disorders to a psychotherapist.
