The climate project of the Hanns Seidel Stiftung on the promotion of nature conservation areas as an effective tool for climate adaptation and climate change has a regional focus and is aimed at senior management and managers of nature conservation and protected areas as well as political decision-makers of relevant ministries and institutions in the MENA-Region. They are also being trained at the Royal Academy for Nature Conservation in Jordan at regular intervals (see previous article). For example, countries such as Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia are particularly affected by climate change and suffer from long drought periods. Land runoff and a massive deterioration in the agricultural sector are the result, with considerable damages to the national economy and the supply situation for the population.
