The Recommendations Of The Royal Committee To Modernize Political System

The Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, in partnership with the Arab World Center for Democratic Development and Human Rights and the German Hanns Seidel Foundation, held the second workshop on “Recommendations of the Royal Commission for the Modernization of the Political System” in Madaba, over two days.

According to the Director of the Arab World Center for Democratic Development and Human Rights, Dr. Amira Mustafa, the first workshop was in the city of Irbid, and this second workshop in Madaba on the same subject within a series of knowledge increasing workshops with aiming to increase awareness and to educate all segments of society on issues and topics that concern and affect their daily reality, with the participation of individuals from different governorates of the Kingdom.

 

Dr. Rasha Mobaideen, a faculty member at Al-Zaytoonah University, and Dr. Munther Jaradat from the Media Commission spoke about the committee in terms of establishment, members, goals, recommendations for the draft electoral law, recommendations for the draft law on political parties, and proposed constitutional amendments related to the election laws, party work and work mechanisms, and other topics.

 

At the end of the workshop, the participants came out with a set of recommendations and proposals, including supporting women politically to enable them to participate politically, representing youth in parties, "especially leadership positions", protecting and qualifying them, supporting them economically, and the need for a variety of electronic platforms to educate youth politically, and provide the appropriate environment for development sufficient to achieve it. Its various political, social and economic dimensions, and the formation of a support council for decision-makers "from the youth sector", and the shadow government.
