The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature - RSCN has developed a 'Rangers training program' consisting of 3 phases, of which the first phase on "General Principles of Biodiversity Conservation & Protected Areas law Enforcement" took place for a group of members of the Environmental Police from May 14 - 16 (see previous article) at the 'Royal Academy of Nature Conservation' in Ajloun.
Phase 2 addresses topics of 'Rangers and Patrolling Skills'. The training, which took place on the Azraq Wetland Reserve focused on
- exact / precise understanding and use of terminology as described in the law
- patrolling procedures
- writing violations
- how to apply patrolling plans
- ranger description, use new technology and equipment
- effective teamwork and collaboration with partners
