In Jordan CITES was approved and accepted by the government in 1978. The illegal international wildlife trading has been increased while using internet became a tool for overseas trading and Jordan is always been known as a meeting point between Asia, Africa and Europe.

The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature - RSCN and the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung agreed to implement a program to increase the awareness of those who are engaged in approving the importing and exporting wildlife species at the borders of the country. The training program targets related staff at the borders of the country, in addition to key national wildlife traders who were engaged in even importing or exporting procedures of wildlife species.

The main objective of the training programs is to provide the customs, related staff at the borders and traders with the skills necessary to monitor and control the imports and exports CITES wildlife species, as well as their products, in addition to detect and prevent illegal trade as such as possible.

A one-day workshop took place on 29th of January 2018 for traders in Azraq. From 12th to 15th of February 2018 a workshop was conducted for custom officers from different border zones (Al Imiri, Arramtha, Jaber, Mudawara, Derrah, Queen Alia Airport).
